My name is Antrodius. In 2001 I started a message board in an effort to re-connect with my old friends and associates from the old Metroplex scene from the mid 1980s to early 1990s. I sent out a few dozen invitations (pretty much every e-mail address I had) and not one person joined or even responded.
In 2004, I made another attempt at the same project. This time, one person joined and immediately deleted their membership after sending me one private message; something about my first attempt having been “sabotaged”, and the importance of keeping the site online – even in the face of “cosmic opposition”.
So this is version 3 or 4 of the site – I’ve lost count. Welcome. There are opinions being expressed in the forums that I don’t necessarily subscribe to, but I can also tell you this: There are organizations that don’t want me or anyone else subscribing to those opinions, and those organizations have the power to shut this operation down.
I have had help though – in the form of hosting packages donated by anonymous contributors who have made it possible to keep this source open.
Being a natural skeptic, I have not given much thought to what’s being posted, but I have seen enough weirdness in my lifetime to know not to dismiss ANYTHING out-of-hand.
Also, someone has hacked the site many times and used it to send several gigabytes worth of some kind of encrypted binary files. I have given up on trying to decode them – all I’ve been able to crack is where each one begins and ends.
The other admins and I are not novices. We know what we’re doing. We still don’t know exactly what’s going on, but we know it’s something important.
